Our Day in Court in the Fatherland of Apples

We start our trek back to Kazakhstan tomorrow. This time we are taking all the things we need to take care of Alia in-country - blankets, more clothes, bottles, pacifiers. Also, Scott's mom is returning with us on this trip.

We are taking a donation box from Two Hearts for Hope (aren't Stacy & Kim awesome?!) and clothes from a family who planned to adopt from Kazakhstan, but then got pregnant. Their family had already started collecting donations, so they wanted them to go there. I also have additional clothes from friends. If I can't fit them, I will send those to Two Hearts.

Our hearing is on Friday morning. Please do whatever it is you do for us - pray, meditate, send good energy. We have a new judge, which is neither good nor bad . . . but it does add more uncertainty to an already uncertain process. Scott's speech is done, we have thought of answers to some questions the judge may ask . . . we are ready.

Please keep us in your thoughts this week. Thanks.

Wow, that seemed to come up fast. I am assuming that this is your final court and that you don't have two court dates like Kostanai? I will definitely be sending up prayers to the heavens for you all and will be thinking about you. Are you on a pancake frenzy again? Good luck!

Oh my dear friend, if only you knew how often you are in my thoughts.

All of you are definitely in my prayers. I hope your flights go well and are smooth, the court experience positive and efficient, and the transition from Alia's BH crib to your bedside crib (her crib, your bedside) is a joyful memory that will last a lifetime.

Sending lots of love along with prayers!

You will do great, and it will be fine. I am sure the questions will be ones that you can answer easily.
Easy for me to say, we're done, right? :)

Honestly, It was nervewracking but in the end, not a big deal. It's clear to everyone how much you love Alia and what loving, wonderful parents you are. The best interest of the child is the reason for the lengthy process and the court hearing, and clearly...the BEST parents are coming back to bring Alia home. :)

How ironic..Friday is our Gotcha day(9 weeks after we met her, just like you typically deliver 9 mos after carrying a child..fraeky), your court hearing, and the day Pat and Eileen are set to leave for Kaz.

When you get nervous, just keep imaging your family-you, Scott, Luca and Alia, all together, at home, as it should be. Just keep that thought in the center of your mind.

I'm so glad you can take donations. As you know, they need them and will so appreciate them. It feels SO good to be able to give to such wonderful wonderful people and of course, the children.

Now, I can't remember, are Scott and his mom staying then bringing Alia home, and you are coming back? Or are there 3 trips in the works?

Sending you loads of good "family" vibes as you bring Alia much love and comfort as you prepare to see her again-with ONESIES and clothes and wonderful donations.

God bless you my friend-SAFE TRAVELS. :)

You guys are definitely in my thoughts. I am sending you all my best wishes for a smooth and swift court process.

We took a box of donations too and are so glad we did, even though we didn't even get a single thank you for them. Weird!

I'm nodding my head in agreement reading your descriptions of how surreal everything has been...being in Kaz....being home....being exhausted....going back to Kaz for this little person who waits for you. Sometimes you wonder if it was all a dream, but then you are there again! Soon your two worlds will come together into one awesome one.

Mwah!

I hope it goes well - I am sure it will. We had a new judge also, and although there were LOTS of questions, the judge was very nice and it all worked out. We will be thinking about you two - especially having to go to court just after travelling!

it's friday night.............how did the hearing go???????????

dying to hear from you guys!

My angel is asleep in her playpen......it has been the most perfect day.
seamless transition-even loved the bath, BUT, she doesn't like what I feed her....I am not the baby house cook-so that's been quite entertaining cuz she spits it all out and blows raspberries everywhere.
LOL
