Quick Update
Scott has made contact with the doctor! Good news! He said he would fax the license and send a hard copy to us. He, however, has not faxed the license to our agency yet. I am somewhat relieved that Scott actually spoke with him. This doctor is awesome, but he is a bit of a maverick and somewhat scattered, particularly when it comes to administrative stuff.
Our dossier is at the consulate in New York. I thought that was the only place it went in the U.S., but I read something about a back-up/remodeling in the embassy in Washington D.C. Does the dossier go to New York AND Washington D.C.? I guess none of this matters right now. We just need to get that license there and hope that is it.
Words of Wisdom
Another blogger/AP who is waiting for a referral had a great suggestion - try to be a "be a leaf in the stream" and see where that takes you (thanks, Angela). I find myself feeling like a ROCK in the rapids instead. Leaf in the stream . . . my new mantra.
Edited on 2/15/2008 to add: The license has been faxed and received thanks to the diligence of my dear husband! Small hurdle cleared - YEA! Hopefully, we are back in soon .

Dossiers go to either the Consulate in NY or the Embassy in Washington. Most adoption agencies work with either one or the other, just depends on where they have people working for them.
Glad things are moving forward for you.
mine is cork on the waves cork on the waves bob and float - very good advice
yAY ON scott finding the doc. I am sure he will get it to your agency.
Yup, our agency is assigned to the DC embassy, which is closed to new dossiers right now because of new personnel and large influx of dosssiers. So, I am glad we are thru there already.
LMI is very well connected, so I am sure you will be fine. :)
Be a leaf. :)
you have great photo's in your blog by the way. LOVE THE PHONE!
Happy valentines day!
A leaf in the stream :) So nice word of wisdom ...
I am glad is moving along, I wish you good luck!
Hi Mr. and Mrs. Leaf,
How's the stream today? :-)
I'm so sorry you got kicked out and have to re-do stuff as well as play detective. It's such a pain, but we somehow just do it.
I've been to the doctor 4 times already for my "you're not dying" checkup. If I have to go a 5th time I will go officially insane!
Glad you were able to get over the hurdle and get back in line. Next stop, Kaz!
The "leaf in the stream" is in the binder too- Chapter 4, p. 52 to be precise. It's something I read last summer, and it's stuck with me ever since. Probably one of those phrases that will never leave my brain ever. Just let it all go. I also liked the part where they said, "If you're the manager type that likes to have control, you're going to have the hardest time throughout this whole thing." That made me laugh out loud, but it was very good wisdom and insight.
Good detective work Scott. You're back in. Yaay!!!
